Establishment and Growth

The college was established in 1963 in a rented building, initially offering intermediate-level education to around 150 students. In 1967, it was shifted to a dedicated campus spanning 33 canals and 9 marlas, and in 1974, it was upgraded to degree level. These developments marked important milestones in the institution’s growth and expansion.

The spacious building area, surrounded by greenery and open spaces, offers students a comfortable atmosphere for learning and collaboration. The Government Graduate College

Government Graduate College for Women, Baghbanpura, located in the north-eastern part of Lahore, is a well-established institution serving the educational needs of Shalimar Town and its surrounding areas. It plays a significant role in fostering both academic excellence and personal development among young women.

Infrastructure and Current Status

In January 1995, a new block comprising eight classrooms and three laboratories was added to the campus. Over time, the college expanded its facilities to include 20 classrooms, 8 laboratories, a library, and a hall. Today, it accommodates approximately 3,800 students and continues to serve as a leading institution for women’s education.

Advanced Research & Computer Laboratory

The computer and research lab is designed to enhance students’ learning experience through technology and innovation. Equipped with modern workstations and an interactive environment, the lab promotes research activities, digital learning, networking, and data analysis skills. Educational wall graphics and collaborative study spaces create an inspiring atmosphere where students can explore creativity, research methodologies, and emerging technologies in a practical way.
